Assistant Manager of Quality Assurance / Food Manufacturing
is responsible for assisting the QA Manager in ensuring all Quality Assurance aspects related to the food processing plant are met.
This includes providing direction to assure the facility has the proper systems, knowledge, capabilities, and practices to comply with all pertinent regulatory, certification programs, and customer requirements.
The person in this role is a leader within our company and is expected to inspire employees to greater levels of professionalism, quality, productivity and engagement in the team.

Our Ideal Candidate has this education and experience:
Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry (or related science discipline)
5+ years of Quality Assurance experience in a food or beverage manufacturing plant.
5+ years of experience managing direct reports in a food or beverage manufacturing plant.
FDA Better Process School Certification is required. (We will send you to this school within the first 12 months of employment if you have not yet completed it.)
SQF Certified Practitioner. (We will help you get certified within the first 12 months of employment if you haven't yet completed it.)
You must be proficient with SPC Programs, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Overview of this job:
Assist the QA Manager with developing, implementing and maintaining Quality Systems.
Hours are 1st shift / daytime hours.
Coordinate preparation and corrective actions for regulatory, customer and internal audits and inspections.
Coordinate process for timely issuance, distribution and compliance with plant procedures.
Administer plant GMP program.
Review quality trends, track root cause of quality failures, coordinate corrective action.
Coordinate the sustainability and annual review of the SQF program.
Identify and implement developmental plans and training for supervisors and support staff reporting directly and indirectly.
Manage employees’ performance through establishing expectations, holding people accountable and developing a sense of urgency.
Partner with other departments regarding the resolution of ongoing problems, the implementation of new procedures or process, the injection of new products or product lines, and the development of new plan and designs.
