What you will do:
You will be responsible for leading and help facilitate plant's continuous improvement processes and projects with a focus on improving safety, quality, productivity and employee engagement..
  • Identify key opportunities for operational improvement in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Manage, lead and execute Lean, Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and other special projects.
  • Lead cross functional teams to drive projects from conception to completion.
  • Manage the Lean Six Sigma program and facilitate the completion of projects in coordination with project managers.   
  • Define, deploy, educate and sustain the fundamental Lean principles and tools including waste elimination, daily management, problem solving, 5S, visual management, standard work, value stream mapping, Kanban (pull systems), TPM, etc.
  • Consult, coach, develop and train team members to excel in continuous improvement concepts. Promote a culture of continuous learning and performance improvement.  
  • Facilitate the corrective action/preventative (CAPA) implementation and monitoring with other Dixon production staff.
  • Prepare reports of department key performance indicators (KPI’s) and continuous improvement projects.
  • Work with all departments and employees to coordinate improvement activities and encourage process ownership mind set.
  • Collaborate and build strong interpersonal relationships with department leadership and team members.
  • Conduct ISO 9001/14001 internal audits and other quality or process audits as needed.
  • Perform all duties in full compliance of all laws, safety and environmental regulations and in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all OHS Standards and Guidelines are correctly implemented and maintained; hazards and risks are identified and effectively controlled; all accidents and dangerous incidents are reported and investigated; OHS is effectively communicated to all personnel.
  • Perform all duties consistent with the Roles and Responsibilities defined in the company’s OHS Standards and Guidelines. 
What do you need to be considered? 
  • You must have a  BS in Engineering - mechanical engineering degree preferred.
  • You will have at least 1-3 years of full time experience working in continuous improvement and LEAN project management in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • You have strong problem solving and applied statistics skills.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience required (Black Belt certification preferred but not mandatory). 
  • You have demonstrated analytical/logical problem-solving ability, while demonstrating inventiveness and initiative.   
  • You present a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to relate well to a wide range of people 
  • Previous experience working with Minitab Statistical Software is preferred.
