A Kalamazoo based, global perishable product producer is looking for a Merchandising leadership type that can come on and lead the corporate Merchandising team (5 Regional Managers and 20 Field Managers plus Lead/Field Merchandisers) and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Walmart and Meijer Field Teams and provide program directives and communication that best supports the company Field Team, Stores, Market Level Operators and Suppliers.
Review and submit required payroll documents to Accounting on a weekly basis (Resource MFG/Temp Agency Payroll) & cross trained on company payroll.
Develop, implement, monitor and manage annual budgets for both Walmart and Meijer separately, as well as company as a whole for both annual in-store hour goals and dollars budgets as laid out by the applicable retailer and company Member Management Team. (Assist with updating the budget monthly and cross trained on Metrics for both Walmart and Meijer).
Provide support in Execution Opportunity escalation up to the appropriate operators as needed.
Travel to stores on a weekly basis to assess Field Team execution, provide direction as needed and offer feedback to both company team and suppliers.
Schedule and oversee various conference calls throughout the year, including Field Manager Conference Calls, Field Coordinator Conference Calls, Market Conference Calls and Supplier Conference Calls. (Notes on HO Call and FM/FC Calls)
Provide staffing expectations, decisions, and support for both seasonal and full time staff.
Coordinate Walmart Year-Beginning Lawn & Garden Kick-Off meetings for each market.
Participate in Meijer Kick-Off Meetings as needed.
Manage Company Vehicle Fleet (Manage all vehicle registration and WEX Log info. Order fuel cards and keep account updated. Cross trained on approving WEX/Enterprise Invoice monthly.)
Provide weekly updates to suppliers and Market Operators.
Review and approve Field Team expense reports on a weekly basis (Review and approve all expenses weekly and record along with monthly expenses such as phone allowances and car allowances. Cross training on how to approve Chronotek Invoice monthly)
Annual company meeting planning, preparation and execution.
Set program expectations based on retailer, supplier and company requirements and standards and clearly communicates these expectations to Field Team and monitor execution.
Oversee the day-to-day operations and make decisions accordingly. (Communicate with Field Teams daily for any concerns regarding regular operations and/or troubleshooting.)
