Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst prepares financial reports that serve as summary information. The Financial Analyst is responsible for identifying relevant insights and compiling analytical reports that enable Senior Leadership in the company to make sound decisions. The Financial Analyst is responsible for collecting information from other divisions of the company. Overall, the Financial Analyst's role will be to provide relevant knowledge and accurate data to the parties that require it the most.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Research and collect data to determine costs of custom products interfacing with engineering and

    operations to determine required inventory, parts, and labor.

  • Analyzes actual costs and prepares periodic report comparing standard costs to actual product


  • Review, enter and update standard costs in the bill of materials.

  • Create, analyze and maintain weekly and monthly data reports including margins, sales, customer

    reporting and financial data, including cost trends.

  • Maintains reporting for sales forecasting and operational planning.

  • Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and

    profitability of products or services.

  • Maintains item codes, cost and pricing for parts and finished goods inventory in Sage 100.

  • Maintains and updates accurate BOM and Item Maintenance.

  • Maintain/adjust inventory cost associated with equipment credits, returns, exchanges, COP units,

    demos and tradeshows.

  • Assists in annual product pricing updates including all sales pricing tools and systems.

  • Annual cost updates and physical inventory process.

  • Assisting with implementation of RMA module.

  • Responsible for Work Order setup and maintenance including transaction of activities.

  • Acts as back up to Staff Accountant.

  • Other departmental related duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting minimum along with preferred five years’ experience in an Accounting position or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.

Other Training or Qualifications

  • Analytical - Financial Analysts work with large amounts of data: facts, figures, and number

    crunching. You will need to see through the data and analyze it to find conclusions. Also,

    synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and

    experience to complement data; Designs work flows and procedures.

  • Attention to Detail: Data is precise. Financial Analysts must make sure they are vigilant in their analysis to come to correct conclusions.

  • Business Acumen - Understands business implications of decisions; Displays orientation to profitability; Demonstrates knowledge of market and competition; Aligns work with strategic goals.

  • Communication Skills: Financial Analysts are often called to present their findings, or translate the data into an understandable document. You will need to write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas.

  • Critical Thinking: Financial Analysts must look at the numbers, trends, and data and come to new conclusions based on the findings.

  • General - Mathematical skills, computer and related software skills and a solid understanding of automated Accounting systems and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

  • Judgment - Displays willingness to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains the reasoning for decisions; Includes appropriate people in decision-making process; Makes timely decisions.

    Equipment and Applications

• Knowledge of personal computer and applications including Advanced Microsoft Excel, Power Pivot and familiar with Power BI and DAX, Word, Outlook and centralized ERP System (i.e., Sage).
