This position is with a hospital based in the greater Cincinnati area. This is a mission-focused Hospital. This position will report to the Food and Nutrition Services Director and will supervise Administrative production lead, cooks and food service associate, indirectly the Wait Staff.
The Food and Nutrition Supervisor is responsible for providing general supervisory coverage of the food service personnel, ensuring both patient and guest satisfaction is being met and exceeded. Will ensure that the areas utilized and serviced are compliant with all regulatory agencies and adheres to departmental and operational policies and procedures. The supervisor is responsible for overseeing all food production, safety, sanitation and procurement. Ensures that food is processed and prepared with-in strict accordance with diet restrictions and adherence to formulated recipes and HACCP guidelines. Will indirectly, oversee the dining room, wait staff and patient tray assembly.
Duties are listed below but not limited to;
  • Assist in the training and ongoing developmental training of the staff
  • Complete and post staff schedules
  • Assign staff to posted daily responsibilities
  • Actively directs and works with the staff on a daily basis
  • Monitors food reparation, food production, quality, temperatures and plate presentation daily
  • Expedites during meal periods to ensure accuracy
  • Participates in recipe development, menu planning and implementation of new menus and specials
  • Works collaboratively with the Food and Nutrition Director and Registered Dietitians
  • Cross trained in the use of the intranet, POS system and FANS software as it relates to the retail operation
  • Knowledge of cash handling, deposits, reports for retail area and monthly reports for finance
  • Assist in the procurement of supplies
  • Supervises the epartment in the absence of the Director of Food and Nutrition Services
  • Culinary graduate or college degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in restaurant and/or healthcare food serivce
  • ServSafe Certification with National Restaurant Association Education Foundation preferred or completed upon hire
  • Experienced in quality food preparation methods
  • Experience in purchasing and receiving food and supplies
  • Strong knowledge of culinary skills, menu and recipe development
  • Possesses effective leadership skills and the ability to develop and strong and┬ácohesive departmental team
  • Displays the ability to treat patient's, guest and staff with respect
  • Must be able to lift and transport food products weighing up to 50 lbs
