World-class, internationally known food manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced leader for their Production Manager role at their plant in North Carolina. Please read the job description below in its entirety prior to applying.

Brief Summary of Position
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Production Manager is to safely produce and deliver a quality product and service to the customer’s satisfaction. This function is to be performed cost effectively as defined in the annual budget.
Promote plant safety through education of employees, participating in safety committee, enforce safety programs and provide incentives.
Assist in establishing product specifications and ensure that they are met by plant employees.
To service sales at 100% service goal and maintain productivity standards.
Prepare annual manufacturing budget.
Supervise month end inventory and assist in month end close as it relates to manufacturing.
Uphold company policies; to treat subordinate fairly and consistently, to review existing policies and make recommendations as required.
Provide ongoing training and motivation for subordinates.
Suggest ideas for continuous improvements and changes in the work instructions, job descriptions and training needs.
Keep employees informed on factors relating to their work assignment, work progress and opportunity for advancement.
Establish and maintain productivity standards.
To constantly find ways to improve the operation and assist in cost analysis of plant improvements.
Execute projects as directed by the Plant Manager.
Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and assume Plant Manager’s responsibilities in his/her absence.
Carry on any other duties assigned by Superior.
All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a Manufacturing Management, Industrial Engineering, Business or related field required. 5 years of production experience in a manufacturing environment required. Bakery or food/beverage manufacturing preferred. With a minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial capacity in a manufacturing environment required. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Experience in manufacturing management roles gained within consumer food production environments, with proven track record in leading manufacturing teams to improve continuously the efficiency of production methods and, ultimately, the quality of products.
Experience and exposure to regulatory inspections (AIB, OSHA, MILITARY, Health Dept., EPA, City & County Inspectors)
Experience with Quality Systems and Programs
Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices
Budget preparation and Cost analysis
Team management/leadership/development skills, including the ability to manage people in an organization matrix and get the best out of them, successful in building and mentoring high performance teams.
Experience with training and developing personnel
Able to perform simple analysis
Be able to walk long distances and to be on his/her feet for long periods of time
Able to work in dusty, noisy, hot, cold and small areas
Effectively communicate in Spanish and English both verbal and written (desirable)
Strong Computer Skills
Experience with Kronos and SAP a strong plus.
