Quality Assurance Manager / Food Manufacturing
is responsible for ensuring all Quality Assurance & Food Safety aspects related to the food processing plant are met.
The Manager in this role is a leader within our company and is expected to inspire employees to greater levels of professionalism, quality, productivity and collaboration within our team.
This includes providing direction to assure the facility has the proper systems, knowledge, capabilities, and practices to comply with all pertinent regulatory, certification programs, and customer requirements.

Our Ideal Candidate has this education and experience:
Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry (or related science discipline)
5+ years of Quality Assurance experience in a food or beverage manufacturing plant.
5+ years of experience managing direct reports in a food or beverage manufacturing plant.
FDA Better Process School Certification is required. (We will send you to this school within the first 12 months of employment if you have not yet completed it.)
SQF Certified Practitioner. (We will help you get certified within the first 12 months of employment if you haven't yet completed it.)
You must be proficient with SPC Programs, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Experience with low acid canned foods - LACF
Ensure daily plant Quality and Food Safety operations are in compliance with company policies, procedures, customer requirements, and local, state, and federal regulation
Ensure escalation of non-conformance events to the proper operations and corporate QA personnel
Maintain robust and effective Food Safety and Quality Plans with supporting prerequisite programs. Collaborate with plant and corporate resources to ensure the plant is always at a regulatory state of readiness for FSMA.
Lead customer specification management
Ensure SAP is aligned to report tests results and required information correctly on the certificate of analysis (COAs)
Manage Hold and Release programs for finished products and ingredients
Manage standardized operating procedures (SOPs)
Provide ultimate oversight of the plant laboratory operations
Facilitate internal, customer, corporate, and regulatory audit visits
Manage the plant investigation for all complaints. Ensure timely response and a thorough review of all records and retains. Provide written reports to corporate QA Director
Implement and oversee Pathogen Environmental Monitoring Program
Monitor needs for capital and expense dollars in support of Quality and Food Safety goals.
Work with employees to formulate goals, monitor progress, and support growth plans
Facilitate scheduling and/or delivery of quality/food safety training to meet corporate and regulatory requirements
Track and report on plant quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Manage sanitation programs and pest control programs
Ensure all CIP verifications and validations are complete each year
