Well-established and rapidly growing food manufacturing operation is seeking a qualified individual for their Quality Lab Technician opportunity in Fort Worth, TX.  This individual will help support manufacturing operations in implementing their Quality Assurance system by executing lab testing for analytics, micro and sensory for both finished product and packaging materials.

Must have experience as a Lab Technician within either a food/beverage manufacturing or pharmaceutical operation, or equivalent degree. 
Starting compensation is $17.00 - $20.00 per hour depending on experience.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Operate and maintain analytical bench test equipment; e.g. Rheomat, pH meter, etc.
  • Certify and execute micro plating; e.g. EB, Coliform, etc.
  • Execute environmental testing; e.g. swabs, air testing, water testing, etc.
  • Support and drive quality improvement in the lab.
  • Help ensure compliance to Danone and Regulatory Quality Systems schemas; e.g. FSSC 22000, PrP, TDH/FDA, Danone Audits.
  • Support Quality systems: e.g the plant ISO and HACCP initiatives.
  • Support development of quality SOPs and ensure QARs are followed up as it relates to materials.
  • Perform analysis according to plan of control and document findings, analyze the trends and put together quality action plans.
  • Train the operational teams when needed on quality related topics such as GMP, quick hits and also support the development of quality SOPs and OPL (one point lessons) and ensure that quality action reports are followed up.
  • Support innovation/renovation plant trials related to materials.

 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or the equivalent experience. 
  • 1-3 years experience in the dairy/food/beverage manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to influence others and be a team player.
  • The ability to develop/implement core work practices and standards that ensure excellence in quality.
  • The ability to rapidly assess, analyze, and quickly resolve complicated quality problems with little initial information or direction and with varying degrees of ambiguity.
  • The ability to multitask and manage priorities with allocating time to long-term, quality continuous improvement projects.
  • Strong “self-management” skills and be comfortable working with minimal supervision.
  • Established project management skills preferred. Must bring leadership, interpersonal and communication skills required to interact with various levels of plant and corporate personnel and influence others.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules as needed to support 7-day per week, 24-hour per day production facilities. Work schedules could include occasional off-shift or weekend work.
