The company is a global luxury haircare brand with distribution in salon professional and prestige retailers. We are recruiting for a Senior Multimedia Designer to work out of company’s Culver City, LA office.
Under the guidance of the Creative Director, the Multimedia Designer is the lead digital designer responsible for ensuring that the company’s brand message is communicated with high visual impact across all digital channels and mobile platforms. This role will focus primarily on digital and video but will also have the opportunity to work on print projects, so the right candidate will have experience in both.
Role & Responsibilities
Design, execute and maintain creative quality for all digital initiatives while fulfilling marketing and creative objectives and goals.
Ensure visual consistency and branding across various touch points: web content, digital campaigns, web banners, email blasts, social media, mobile platforms, video assets and special projects.
Strong luxury brand creative aesthetic with passion for and knowledge of beauty and fashion trends, as well as understanding of online consumer behavior.
Collaborate with Creative, PR, Marketing and Education teams to insure brand consistency and unified direction as well as suggest innovative solutions to business requirements that leverage digital content providing marketing differentiation, performance improvements, and better user experiences.
Translate digital requirements into elegant, innovative and intuitive design solutions, balancing user needs with business goals and technological constraints across platforms.
High comfort level with both digital design and UX/UI with the ability to collaborate actively as part of a team. Proficiency with print design to support multi-disciplinary team is a plus.
Knowledgeable of video platforms and possess the skills required to create in-house digital media
Knowledge of ecommerce best practices (e.g. general design rules for email creation, landing page layouts, banner sizing, etc.)
Keep abreast of emerging technologies with recommendations for adoption where appropriate.
College/university degree in digital/media/communication design required
Must have 3+ years designing experiences across multiple platforms (online media, social networks and video channels)
Proven working experience in digital marketing, with experience in digital agency or in-house design department, preferably with beauty or fashion background.
Must demonstrate understanding of design processes, as well as the ability to integrate them all with high production value for digital projects.
An ability to imagine and explore new approaches and experimental solutions; bring vision to design concepts and execution. A strong knowledge of UI/UX design principles, as well as the documentation of style, functional specifications, user needs, and information architecture.
Working proficiency in Shopify, HTML and web coding, digital animation, CSS and various browsers and platforms
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Video production and basic editing experience required
