We are searching for a Staff Accountant who is eager to learn, be innovative, and enjoys new challenges each day.

This position will report directly to an Accounting Manager and have direct access to the Assistant Controller and Controller. Their team is growing and they are eager to add a talented person.

Responsibilities Include
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns for multiple states
  • Sales and Use tax research and planning
  • Performs GL month-end close tasks and journal entries
  • Prepares monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, and clears reconciling items in a timely manner
  • Ensures that appropriate controls and compliance processes are followed
  • Assists the fixed asset team in the qualification and capitalization processes
  • Makes recommendations for process improvements and automation opportunities
  • Contributes to any special projects and performs additional duties as assigned by management
 
Education & Requirements
 
  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred
  • Accounting Experience – Minimum of 2 years of multi-state sales and use taxes is required
  • Company Experience – Multi-location experience is preferred, large and/or public company is preferred
  • General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), balance sheet and income statement methods, internal controls, and other areas related to financial reporting requirements
  • Proven ability to systematically enhance processes and drive improvements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience in Workday GL or other large ERP systems is a plus
