Company profile: A global manufacturing company with an immediate need for a Director Human Resources to oversee Human Resources functions at the company corporate headquarters and manufacturing facilities located in Rockford, IL  
 
Essential duties/responsibilities:
  • Principal accountability for recruitment and staffing, training and development, compensation and benefits, safety and workers compensation, organizational development, employee relations and legal compliance. 
  • Accountability for coordinating and implementing the human resource vision and strategy, including the development, execution, and administration of HR programs, policies and practices.
  • Responsible for promoting effective employee relations, minimizing exposure to risk, ensuring organizational efficiency and effectiveness,  as well as ensuring compliance with internal policies, and Local, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic HR plans to meet both current and future HR needs.
  • Advising and counseling business on HR issues as they relate to the achievement of departmental business goals.
  • Providing leadership, guidance and direction to the HR team in the implementation of HR strategies, projects, programs, policies and standards.
  • Overseeing the development of a team of HR professionals including, career development, performance management, talent management and organizational effectiveness to support employee engagement and team effectiveness.
  • Responsible for evaluating and suggesting new benefit or compensation structures or changes to existing plans. 
  • Planning directing and implementing policies relating to all phases of the HR department.
  • Identifying, evaluating and resolving human relations, work performance, employee morale and organizational productivity issues and proactively developing and directing training of employees on these matters.
 
Education and experience requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, or Business Management or related field and equivalent knowledge gained through experience.
  • Eight or more years of progressive Human Resources Generalist experience with at least four years of substantial Human Resources Management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Significant experience with and knowledge of applicable Human Resources related statutes and regulations such as ADA, ADEA, COBRA, FMLA, FLSA, HIPPA, OSHA, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Human Resources principles, techniques and procedures as well as strategies to assess and resolve Human Resources issues.
  • Proven ability to interact with all levels of the organization with comprehensive, consultative, partnering, facilitating and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be a hands-on individual with demonstrated ability to lead projects and solve problems using structured methods
