Job Description
Our client is  well known and respected consumer web site.  They deal with huge data sets and analytics (15+Tb DW, Hadoop, home made ETL)  They are looking for a senior/princ. software engineer, with strong database interest and ability. The successful candidate will have experience developing database-driven software that is highly scalable and reliable.



Responsibilities:

Enhancement and monitoring of the ETL process. Monitoring and improvement of the performance of  live site databases. Writing custom load testers. Reviewing and creating schema design Query optimization. Performance optimization at all levels from software design and implementation to database configuration.



Requirements:

BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent 8+ years of software development experience SQL JAVA, C++, C#, or other object oriented language Linux/UNIX and Windows experience Organized, self-motivator and detail oriented Strong analysis and keen problem-solving skills



Desired skills: Database Administration PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, MySQL ETL processing Shell scripting
